Weeks Marine is headquartered in Cranford, New Jersey, and manages a network of regional offices in Louisiana, Texas, Hawaii, Guam, Ontario, and Nova ScotiaLocationThis position is located at the Dredging Divisional Office in Covington, Louisiana.ResponsibilitiesResearches and analyzes data, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or applicationDesigns products or systems such as instruments, controls, machines, and mechanical, thermal, and hydraulic systemsPlans and directs engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and development of methods and procedures for testing products or systemsDirects and coordinates fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and company specificationsCoordinates operation, maintenance, and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipmentDesigns products and systems to interface machines, hardware, and softwareEvaluates field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctionsProvides Engineering services including advice, information, and drawings to various supervisors in maintenance and repair departments as well as on board personnelFrequent equipment and jobsite visits and inspections#LI-MO1Qualifications3-5 years of experience preferred, ideally in Marine Services or Construction industryBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required, Master’s degree preferredTechnical understanding of construction and maintenance of marine vesselsStrong knowledge of AutoCADAbility to read and understand technical manuals and drawingsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret common specific and technical journalsProficient skills in standard office software packagesAbility to work a 50-hour work week, additional hours as neededWillingness and ability to travel requiredThis position requires fluent use of the verbal and written English languageOther Requirements:Regular, reliable attendanceWork productively and meet deadlines timelyCommunicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.Perform work safely and effectively.
