Senior Staff Software Engineer, Platforms Infrastructure Engineering, Storage

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
• 5 years of experience with design and architecture, and testing/launching software products.
• 2 years of experience in the storage domain (i.e., hardware or software).

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, and/or cross-business projects.
• Experience in one or more of the following: SSD storage and related technologies, such as NVMe, storage hardware and FTLs, storage management and security low level systems architecture, and/or low level systems architecture.

In this role, you will be responsible for building storage solutions for all of Google's services (e.g., AI/ML Systems, Cloud, Search Photos, Youtube etc.). You will design and develop all the platforms software and solutions for NAND flash, SSDs, storage appliances, and next-generation disruptive storage technologies. You will also develop firmware, kernel drivers, system software, tools and security solutions optimized for Google’s services such as Cloud, Search etc.
