Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Oracle Database Analyst to join our dynamic team in Philadelphia. This role is pivotal in managing and optimizing our Oracle database systems to enhance data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Oracle databases, ensuring they operate efficiently, securely, and align with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Oracle technologies, database administration, and data analysis, coupled with a keen understanding of business processes.


Key Responsibilities:

Database Design and Implementation:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Oracle databases to support business applications and systems.
  • Develop and manage database schemas, tables, views, indexes, triggers, and stored procedures.
  • Ensure data models are scalable, efficient, and aligned with organizational requirements.

Database Performance and Optimization:

  • Monitor database performance and conduct tuning activities to optimize efficiency and scalability.
  • Implement best practices for database indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
  • Analyze system performance metrics and adjust configurations to enhance database operations.

Data Security and Compliance:

  • Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data within Oracle databases.
  • Manage user access controls, roles, and permissions to ensure data confidentiality and integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance policies, industry regulations, and best practices such as GDPR and HIPAA.

Backup and Recovery:

  • Develop and maintain backup and recovery plans to safeguard against data loss.
  • Perform regular backups, restore testing, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of database systems.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Extract, analyze, and interpret complex data sets to provide actionable insights.
  • Develop custom reports and dashboards using Oracle reporting tools to support business decision-making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver tailored solutions.

System Integration and Support:

  • Support integration of Oracle databases with other applications and platforms.
  • Assist in the migration of legacy systems to Oracle platforms when necessary.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.

Documentation and Collaboration:

  • Document database configurations, procedures, and changes to maintain an up-to-date knowledge base.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, developers, and business analysts, to align database solutions with business needs.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on Oracle database functionalities.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay current with the latest Oracle technologies, updates, and industry trends.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system performance and user experience.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and share knowledge within the team.


Required Skills and Experience:

Citizenship:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Oracle databases and related technologies.
  • Proven experience in database design, development, administration, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with data analysis, data warehousing, and business intelligence reporting.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Oracle Database technologies, including SQL and PL/SQL programming.
  • Familiarity with Oracle tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, Data Guard, and RMAN.
  • Experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Automatic Storage Management (ASM).
  • Knowledge of data modeling techniques and ETL processes.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems and scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python).
  • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and cloud-based database solutions is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) in Database Administration.
