Desktop EngineerSalt Lake City, UtahHybridContract$35/hr - $30/hrThe Desktop Support Engineer will work with the Sr. IT Manager to set up and support all employees including new hire setups and support. This Engineer will take the lead position and ownership of various projects and IT initiatives and will be responsible for the outcome and success of projects. This role involves responding to queries, running diagnostic programs, isolating problems, and determining and implementing solutions. On-call rotation is required for all team members. This is a hybrid role with 1-2 days a week remote.Contract Duration: 6 months Required Skills & ExperienceAdvanced experience with building and ownership of JAMF/ABM and/or Intune/Autopilot; MDM managementStrong Knowledge of owning platforms - Azure AD/Entra ID, Office 365 administration, Teams administration, and Sharepoint administrationExperience in scripting - Powershell/Python/other scripting languagesExcellent Problem Solving and critical thinking skillsStrong passion for innovationExperience troubleshooting technical issuesWillingness to learn and self-educatePassion for customer serviceAbility to multitask and manage timeWork both independently and in teams as neededBoth Written and verbal communication skillsRequires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science ORMinimum 5+ Years experience in an advanced technical roleUS Military or Veteran a plusWhat You Will Be DoingDaily ResponsibilitiesDesign, Build, and implement solutions for device enrollment, endpoint management, policy configuration & app deployment using Microsoft Intune (Windows/Android), AutoPilot, Apple Business Manager (ABM), and JAMF Pro (Apple)Test, install, and set up application programs on user’s workstationsProvide escalated technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and softwareMaintain user account administration across multiple systems and platforms, including but not limited to,Azure AD/Entra ID, Office 365, Teams, Sharepoint, Intune/Autopilot, JAMF/ABM, and moreMaintain and update PCs, MACs, printers, mobile devices, and related auxiliary systemsOwnership of monthly run activities, including but not limited to, software deployment, packaging, and vulnerability managementWork with vendors to evaluate new technologySelf-Manage daily Service Desk issues by being a support escalation point, driving aging tickets and customer service issues to completionProvides feedback to IT Management and MSPs as it relates to the services provided from the service desk and other business unitsMonitor the performance of company’s desktop infrastructure and provide suggestions to improve efficiencyDeveloping automation and scripts using PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languagesDevelopment experience with ticketing systems, and automation for Atlassian products (Jira Software, Jira Service Desk, Confluence, and plugins)Maintenance of infrastructure technologies following the change management process - logging of change management tickets, seeking appropriate approvals, testing, and releaseTroubleshoot, investigate and document system configuration and performance anomaliesPerform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questionsBuild and own documentation to support problem analysis and resolution through KB articlesTroubleshoot users’ issues and resolve problemsAssist Infrastructure Team with troubleshooting network issues and network upgrades as necessary, to include after-hours testing and releases as neededResolves and immediately responds to employees calls/texts and communication after-hours for urgent issues, including emergency on site support as neededExperience assisting Leadership with technical support.Advice leadership on the best technological solutions for an organizationYou will receive the following benefits:Medical Insurance - Four medical plans to choose from for you and your familyDental & Orthodontia BenefitsVision BenefitsHealth Savings Account (HSA)Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending AccountsVoluntary Life Insurance, Long-Term & Short-Term Disability InsuranceHospital Indemnity Insurance401(k) including match with pre and post-tax optionsPaid Sick Time LeaveLegal and Identity Protection PlansPre-tax Commuter Benefit529 College Saver PlanMotion Recruitment Partners (MRP) is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including Veterans/Disability/Women.
