This position reports to the SR. Engineering Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Documenting product specifications, generating concept ideas, and leading concept selection
- Performing qualification tests to ensure conformance to specifications
- Developing details designs and documentation including tolerance analysis for collaboration with suppliers in the DFM Process
- Resolving part and process issues by working with production engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers
- Working with global suppliers on qualifying mechanical parts made with a variety of processes.
Required
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- 0-5 years of mechanical engineering experience, new grads encouraged to apply
- Knowledge of solid modeling, preferably using Creo
- Ability to work on multiple projects and coordinate with multiple departments simultaneously
- Working knowledge of fabrication processes, such as, plastic injection molding, machining, metal forming, die-casting, and laser cutting
- Experience designing plastic injection molded parts including analysis with mold flow
- Experience with design of experiments (DOE) and finite element analysis (FEA)
- Working knowledge of metrology, associated tools, and statistical techniques
