Project Engineer

The Project Engineer assists and supports the Project Manager on assigned projects. The position works under direct supervision, performs routine daily activities and gathers and distributes information. The Project Engineer must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Receive, review, forward and track status of submittals
2. Initiate, prepare, review, track and distribute RFIs
3. Assist in management of project permit process
4. Assist in preparations of bid packages and procurement
5. Update construction schedule based on project team input, Trade Contractor progress and materials delivery
6. Change management, including soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and preparing quotations and change orders
7. Track and inspect material deliveries
8. Assist in preparation of monthly owner project status reports, as required
9. Attend project meetings, as directed by Project Manager and record meeting minutes
10. Assist and/or complete project close-out
11. Communicate and enforce Manhattan’s environmental, health and safety management policies
12. Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-free environment through own actions and mentoring others
13. Assist Senior Project Manager
14. Other duties assigned

JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES GUIDELINES:

1. Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products
2. Knowledge of Manhattan document control and scheduling software
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills
4. Basic math/accounting skills
5. Functions effectively as part of a team
6. Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
7. Ability to understand and follow directions
8. Time management skills and organizational skills
9. Ability to read drawings and specifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s Degree- Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent
