POSITION SUMMARY - Position involving various duties that permit exposure to Process Engineering and/or provide experience that is a useful addition to the student's education and meaningful preparation for future professional employment. This internship is open to college Sophomores, Juniors or Seniors seeking a manufacturing-focused internship.
WORK ENVIRONMENT - Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Education: Sophomore or above in a degree seeking program, studying Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technoloyg or a related field.
Experience: No experience necessary; general knowledge of the field preferred.
Computer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy; proficient in Microsoft Office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Review high-risk failure modes and their relevant detection and prevention controls to ensure proper risk-reduction for our customers.
- Create shared loading and capacity overviews for equipment / tooling based on historical production and future-state projections to provide recommendations on area consolidation, capital expenditures, staffing, etc.
- Complete time studies and process reviews to understand process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, cycle times, required operator counts, etc.
- Create, review, and update work instructions for current and new processes to ensure proper training and operation.
- Conduct troubleshooting and problem-solving activities related to quality and process issues.
- Ability to take direction from immediate supervisor
- Ability to adapt to work environment and perform versatile tasks
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Determination to meet deadlines
- Maintain confidentiality when applicable
