S. Lichtenberg & Co., Inc. is a leading supplier of home textiles in the U.S. with a broad customer base in brick and mortar and e-commerce. This position is on-site at our Great Neck Office. In-office days are Monday through Thursday with every Friday as a work from home option.

 

We are seeking a CAD Designer who is a dynamic team player to support the Design Team and who creates, modifies, and colors artwork. This position manages time, takes color direction and understands the design strategy that aligns with our company strategy for both internal brands and private brands.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:  

·        Use multiple textile software programs and equipment to scan, clean, color

·        Create repeats for print and woven designs and create trend right colorways

·        Create original artwork

·        Create spec sheets

·        Routine maintenance of large format printers

·        Routine maintenance of copyright files

PROBLEM SOLVING & DECISION MAKING:   

·        Strong understanding of print design and woven capabilities

·        An excellent color sense with a solid understanding of color theory

·        Understanding of the mass market consumer and retailers’ trends

·        Work independently utilizing solid organizational skills to manage artwork requests and deadlines

·        Effective communication and collaborative skills

·        Strong timeline management skills in a fast paced, deadline driven environment

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, or related field

·        2+ years of experience in digital textile or surface design

·        Understanding of print and woven capabilities

·        Proficient in textile CAD software- Ned graphics, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator

·        Knowledge of Epson large format printer and the Evolution RIP software

·        Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize 

·        Excellent communication skills

·        Ability to work independently
