Our Engineering team is at the forefront of this challenge, solving complex technical problems that center around habits, behavior, and lifestyle. The Technical Lead Manager, Engineering will be responsible for the technical evolution of one or more areas of our architecture, contributing to the codebase and formulating a strategy on how to scale their team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and grow one of our software engineering teams, fostering a collaborative team culture
- Provide architectural oversight and technical guidance to the team, driving the design and implementation of APIs and services critical to our applications, with a focus on functionality, reliability, and performance.
- Understand and actively manage the systems owned by the team, ensuring high availability and functionality. Work closely with other teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal use of APIs and services.
- Lead complex projects from concept to completion, creating actionable plans, prioritizing work, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Be hands-on and able to dig into and contribute to code; lead by example with strong coding standards and practices.
- 4-6 years of experience as a backend/full stack engineer and 2-3 years of experience managing an engineering team, ideally in a Java/Kotlin environment
- Comfort jumping into a codebase and owning the team's architecture decisions while also being able to coach and mentor direct reports.
- A proven track record of driving complex projects with many stakeholders to completion.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
- Experience growing engineering teams through great hires, fostering a harmonious culture, and finding the right intersection between expediency and best practice.

- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $192,000 - 260,000.
- The range displayed on each job posting is based on Noom's estimate as of the date of publication and reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position across all US locations. The actual placement of the candidate within the range is based on factors including but not limited to relevant experience, assessment of functional skills and behavioral competencies, and scope. This range is not inclusive of any discretionary bonus or equity package.
