Serena & Lily, a lifestyle and home furnishings brand, is looking for a motivated, collaborative, DevOps Engineer to join the team, primarily in support of our Ecommerce functions. This is a critical role in helping to improve processes and automations for a new, state of the art MACH architecture. The successful candidate will be hands on in building and releasing code, automating a CI/CD workflow and ensuring that automated testing and security are integral to our processes. The role requires an articulate, self-motivated, analytical individual who enjoys working with a team, solving large complex systems, and who thrives in new challenges and does not settle for the status quo.
Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain internal operational tools that support business operations (CI/CD)
- Assist in releasing deployments to production for all systems in the Company
- Monitor and assess production systems for resiliency and performance
- Monitor logs and alerts for production issues, responding accordingly
- Design and maintain production dashboards to improve responsiveness and effectiveness to production issues when they arise
- Collect and analyze production operational data for review and to assist in improving performance and resiliency
- This position will work primarily with the eCommerce application, but will also cross train with other technologies to provide coverage for other team members
- Strong attention to detail and ability to notice errors or discrepancies
Technical Requirements:
- Experience with scripting languages – e.g. JavaScript, Python, bash/command line
- Experience with using package managers – e.g. npm or yarn
- Experience with Docker containers
- Experience in CI/CD toolsets – e.g. Github Actions or Jenkins
- Experience with AWS Cloud implementations - Networking (VPC, CloudFront, Route53), Serverless (Lambdas), APIs (API Gateway, AppSync), Security (WAF, KMS, IAM, Cognito), Logging (CloudFront, CloudTrail)
- Experience with Terraform
- Working knowledge of cyber concepts, penetration testing methods, vulnerabilities, information assurance, and security methodology – e.g. DAST/SAST, OWASP
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Advanced degree is desirable
- Experience in a CI/CD environment is an advantage
- Ability to be self-motivated and curious is needed
- Understanding and appropriate experience with software systems’ configuration management (e.g., SVN, git)
- Strong understanding of programming language concepts and ability to read and integrate preexisting codebases, and a deeper understanding of at least one heavily-used language (including Python, JavaScript)
- Ability to communicate with a range of people and roles, and the ability to work well in a remote team environment is critical
This position is fully remote and can be located anywhere in the lower 48 states of the US.
Compensation:
- $100-130k depending on experience
