Linux and Cloud Engineer

Location: Rancho Cucamonga, CA – Onsite Role

Role: Engineer III - Linux and Cloud

The responsibilities of Engineer III - Linux and Cloud include the following:

1. Ensuring effective daily operations of company’s Linux based systems.
2. Experience with running virtualized Linux based systems within a VMware environment.
3. Knowledge and experience with VMware’s Tanzu platform.
4. In accordance with change management policy, make changes to system software and hardware so that performance meets company’s objectives and maintain SLA’s.
5. Experience with implementing and maintaining anti-virus for Linux based systems like RPM, DEB, etc.
6. Experience in patching and maintaining Linux based systems.
7. Manage and apply necessary system security access.
8. Analyze performance indicators to ensure that systems are operating efficiently.
9. Advanced knowledge of Linux based servers and associated products.
10. Build and maintain Linux based servers and associated applications in a highly available, scalable, and secure environment.
11. Basic knowledge of DNS/SAN/WAN/LAN networking.
12. Experience working with Azure or other cloud-based platforms.
13. Provide support, troubleshooting, and design of our cloud environment.
14. Experience with Tomcat and Apache.
15. Exposure and experience with cloud-based platforms as an extension of the Linux based server environment.
16. Perform root cause analysis for Linux based servers.
17. Team player and ability to work well with others.
18. Experience working in the Healthcare Industry will be an added advantage.
19. After hours and weekend work at times required.
20. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

1. Strong knowledge of VMware’s Tanzu platform.
2. Strong knowledge of storage and security administration, in addition to load balancing and application of appropriate security measures.
3. Strong planning, organization, critical thinking, decision-making, and communication (verbal and written) skills.

Education Qualifications:

1. Eight (8) or more years of hands-on experience working with Linux based systems and Azure environments.
2. Linux: Five plus (5+) years of experience in administration of Linux or Unix-like computer operating systems assembled under the model of free and open-source software development and distribution.
3. Demonstrated experience with Apache Tomcat, often referred to as Tomcat Server.
