GENERAL DESCRIPTION
- Responsible for maintaining current CNC programs for mill and lathes and working with machinists to verify parts are set-up correctly.
DUTIES
- Creates CNC G-Code programs using Cam software for 3 Axis machine's up to 5 Axis machines Using Mastercam or Surfcam ( Prefer MasterCam )
- Hass Mill and Lathe Experience
- Establishes programming standards within the shop
- Ensures all CNC programs are maintained
- Configures appropriate tooling
- Creates, maintains, and standardizes set-up sheets
- Selects the appropriate fixtures and/or designs new fixtures when necessary
- Multitasks between creating new programs and editing programs
- Possesses good communication and organizational skills
- Training less experienced machinist
- Other Duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Two-year College or technical school in machine technology with emphasis in CNC programming preferred
- Eight to ten years' experience in a machining environment.
- Strong Background in programming fifth axis machines using MasterCam in job shop

- Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.

- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
- May be required to see or read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
- Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
- Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear
- Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
- May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, fork lift, etc.
