Job Description

Boston University's Creative Services department is looking for a talented, smart, and savvy Principal Designer to be an integral part of our award-winning creative team of designers, marketing writers, and editors. You would be responsible for taking a leadership role in conceptualizing and designing the University's top communications and marketing initiatives. The Principal Designer is responsible for all aspects of conceptual graphic design, layout, design production, and general aesthetics for the content of several of the University's most important print and integrated communications, including branding campaigns, annual reports, magazines, brochures, videos, environmental graphics, advertising, etc. If you are a strategic communicator with experience concepting and designing high-quality, visually compelling print and digital materials, and have solid experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Animate we want to hear from you!

Required Skills

  • BFA or equivalent experience with 8+ years of professional experience as a graphic designer.
  • Knowledge of marketing communications principles and print production processes.
  • Solid experience in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work within established budgets and schedules.
  • Able to handle multiple projects under deadline pressure with grace and good humor.
  • Stays abreast of state-of-the-art design techniques and technologies.
