*This is a hybrid role based out of our HQ near Portland, OR. In-office expectation is 3 days a week*.

Reporting to the Creative Director, this role will be a key leader in our in-house creative team. Responsible for leading the production design team that services brand marketing, direct-to-consumer, and wholesale, this role will bring key seasonal campaigns, stories, and promotions to life across all touchpoints. This role is ideal for someone passionate about pushing the boundaries of digital design across various platforms and mediums, including our website, email campaigns, paid media, mobile initiatives, online product videos, point-of-sale, and interactive displays.

We are looking for a hands-on leader capable of driving excellence in a fast-paced go-to-market environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent process and communication skills to complement their broad array of design skills. This role will represent a critical bridge between our campaign development team and our digital marketing team, translating key art, photography selects, video assets, and other campaign elements into consumer-facing experiences, tactics, and deliverables.

The right candidate will have a love affair with layout design, performance marketing, and process innovation. While primarily a hands-on design role, we're looking for a capable leader who can continue building, managing, and mentoring a small but growing team of graphic designers, digital designers, and copywriters.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Partner with the Creative Director and creative team to conceptualize and execute innovative digital design solutions that elevate SOREL's brand and digital presence.

  • Collaborate with multiple teams, including the ecommerce development team, photography studio, merchandising, marketing, and production teams, to ensure cohesive and effective digital campaigns.

  • Work closely with copywriters to create on-brand, engaging messaging across all digital touchpoints.

  • Partner with other creative groups within the company, such as photography, graphics, and apparel design, to ensure consistency in messaging, look, and feel across all consumer-facing digital material.

  • React quickly and effectively to market activity, providing creative solutions to pivot digital designs and campaigns as needed to align with emerging trends and business needs.

  • Drive site enhancements and introduce fresh ideas, drawing on industry best practices and emerging trends in digital design and consumer engagement.

  • Art direct channel-specific photo shoots to create visually compelling assets that align with the brand's vision and online presence.

  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and collaborators both inside and outside the company to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication.

  • Deliver work on schedule, collaborating closely with the production team to meet agreed-upon deadlines.

  • Oversee the production of traditional design outputs for point-of-sale, packaging, and advertising.

  • Merge fashion and technical details. Be a creative problem solver.

YOU ARE

YOU HAVE

  • 5-10 years' experience in a brand production or agency environment.

  • 2-3 years' experience managing direct reports.

  • A link to a portfolio of work demonstrative of design fundamentals, layout chops, and creative sensibilities required in resume or application.

  • An interest in footwear or fashion is preferred.

  • A background in design with a deep understanding of UX/UI principles and consumer behavior in the digital space.

  • Proficient in Figma , the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), and skilled in motion graphics and video editing .

  • A passion for creative problem-solving and a drive to challenge what's possible in the digital landscape, from mobile to in-store digital experiences.

  • Ability to create digital assets across multiple platforms, including website design, video production, and interactive kiosks.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality work on schedule.
