JOB TITLE/LOCATION:
Application Engineer – Greenville, SC
DESCRIPTION:
As an Application Engineer, you will technically support DODGE mounted bearing customers, salespeople, and plants from Greenville, South Carolina.
Reporting to the Application Engineering Manager - Mounted Bearings, you will be responsible for supporting the DODGE Mounted Bearing business. This role is a customer facing, technical position, and it requires providing application technical support through phone calls, emails, chat requests and site visits. This individual will also provide engineering support to supply chain, sales, product management and our manufacturing facilities. Qualified individuals shall be able to communicate and relay technical concepts and ideas to internal and external stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Provide product and application based technical customer service to mounted bearing customers via phone calls, emails and chat.
- Provide product selection and installation support while finding creative solutions to customer issues.
- Work directly with product drafters/designers to ensure accuracy of models and drawings.
- Occasional travel, to provide on-site customer service, including training, installation support, and diagnosis as required.
- Collaborate with other business functions, including manufacturing, supply chain, product management, R&D, and quality.
- Create new part numbers and establish/maintain BOMs.
- Manage cost reduction and lean/continuous improvement projects, which may include laboratory testing, design, and qualification.
- Attendance at work is an essential function of the job.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or Mechanical Engineering Technology).
EXPERIENCE:
- Familiar with MS Office and 3D/2D drafting and modeling software.
- Familiar with Engineering concepts, including problem solving, manufacturing, and material science.
- Customer service experience is a plus.
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for RBC / DODGE in the US.
