About the Role
The Process Engineer leads engineering activities related to wet processing of metalized ceramic substrates, including photolithography, etching, and cleaning. These processes are used in the thin film and direct bond copper departments. Responsibilities include the development of new processes and their integration into existing process flows, as well as continuous improvement of established processes. In addition, the Process Engineer leads the specification and introduction of new equipment to improve capabilities, quality, and throughput. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic team player to apply thin film processing techniques to the specific challenges of the ceramic thin film environment.
What You Get to Do
  • Process owner for substrate preparation, etching, photolithography, cleaning, and thin film deposition of a wide range of metallization on ceramic substrates
  • Manage multiple or large projects; plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of the work of a project.
  • Develop new processes and introduce them into manufacturing. This includes process development, determination of process capabilities, establishing QC procedures, documentation, and training.
  • In cooperation with the Quality Department, develop and support yield and quality data reporting, including SPC methods.
  • Continuously improve existing processes, using industry standard methodologies.
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding products and materials. Investigate improvements to current production processes.
  • Represent the engineering in coordination meetings related to engineering planning and reporting, AS9100D and general quality management, material review board, and operations.
About You
  • Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Five or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment as a Process Engineer
  • Working knowledge of Vacuum Technology and Deposition techniques like e-beam evaporation is a plus
  • Experience with photolithography, wet etching, and cleaning processes
  • Working knowledge of metrology tools (profilometry, optical absorption and transmission, ellipsometry, etc.)
  • Excellent data collection and analysis skills
  • Skilled at DOE creation and evaluation
  • Exceptional ability to communicate verbally and in writing with a wide variety of customers, vendors, and staff
  • Ability to manage multiple project/activity deadlines
