Our organization received funding and is conducting pre-clinical research in transplant medicine, focusing on genetic engineering techniques to improve organ transplant compatibility and reduce rejection. The intention of the pre-clinical trial is to get the results published in a scientific journal and evaluate implementation in transplant recipients.
We are specifically studying two potential pathways:
- Deactivation of HLA genes in donor organs using CRISPR-Cas9 delivered via lentiviral vectors or electroporation.
- Creating chimeric bone marrow via engineered CD34+ cells.
Job Requirements:
Experience/Skills:
- Gene knockout engineering using lentiviral vectors or electroporation and CRISPR-Cas9
- Strong knowledge of the immune system
- Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards with animal models
- Research design and scientific investigation background
