Location: Fairfax, VA
SUMMARY: WR has an opportunity for a Software Engineer, Senior to research, design, and develop computer software systems, in conjunction with hardware product development. Independently formulate and design software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
Position Responsibilities
- Must have fluency in Python and modern C++.
- Should have experience with Numpy and MATLAB.
- Should have experience with the following:
- Performance optimization and parallel programming.
- Microservice design, containerization and Docker.
- Source management tools (such as GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket).
- Test-driven development and CI/CD principles.
- Independently develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
- Consults with clients to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements.
- Consults with customers concerning maintenance of software system.
- Preferred:
- Knowledge of DDS, Kubernetes, physics, matrix math, signal processing, GPU development.
Candidates Must Possess The Following Knowledge, Skills, And Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related scientific discipline.
- Ten (10)+ years of professional experience in C, C++, C#, Visual Basic and/or other object-oriented languages.
- Demonstrated software development using one or more of these languages under the Unix, Windows, Linux, and/or MS-DOS operating systems.
- Experience with contractual related project/work environment, in providing engineering support to electronic maintenance and modification systems, and in establishing processes/guidelines for electric design.
