Apex Systems is immediately seeking a Systems Integration Lead to join our client's team, supporting a high-impact government contract. In this LTC, hybrid position , you will have the opportunity to lead innovative integration projects that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of critical government functions.

Location: Hybrid 2-3x onsite in Aberdeen, MD

Clearance Type: Active SECRET Clearance Required

Duration: Long Term Contract

Travel: 15%-20%. Please see travel details below for more information.

Compensation: Hourly rate on W2 ranging from $60-$65/hr - Based on relevant years of experience and education (LCAT requirements)

Overview of Systems Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Support systems, products, and technologies within the PM portfolio.
  • Assist in the design, development, and acquisition of reliable tactical network systems for critical missions.
  • Handle integration, configuration, operation, and maintenance of the network.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve interoperability issues across platforms.

Major Duties:

  • Implement systems engineering processes and best practices.
  • Provide expertise in development, testing, evaluation, training, and configuration management for acquisition programs.
  • Support transport and networking architecture for current and future tactical networks.
  • Conduct design reviews and technical evaluations of network performance and architectures, including risk assessments and integration strategies.
  • Assist with Capability Set (CS) and Integrated Tactical Network (ITN) activities.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies to modernize communications.
  • Collaborate with organizations such as PEO C3T, other PMs, PdMs, ACM, and Army stakeholders on interoperability.
  • Review and translate acquisition documentation to develop standards-based, cost-efficient technical solutions.
  • Assess Government performance work statements and contractor proposals for technical accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in network engineering, including LAN/VLAN design, routing protocols, multicast, and IPv4/IPv6 addressing.
  • Proficiency in network protocol analysis tools (e.g., Sniffer, Wireshark).
  • Experience with VMware and commercial communications equipment.
  • Knowledge of transport and network architectures, end-to-end network design, and performance.
  • Understanding of voice/data transmission, backbone networks, RF engineering, and tactical communications systems.

TRAVEL:

  • The duties of this position require periodical travel, estimated up to 15-20%. All expenses are billable.
