What will the Network Engineer be Doing?
A successful candidate will be working on challenging projects at the forefront of the Defence sector for a range of customers. You will be a key player in designing, implementing, supporting and maintaining highly available Network Architectures whilst advising and assisting the business through guidance on usage of complex systems. You will utilise your extensive network knowledge and should have a proven track record of working on global networks.
The Network Engineer Should Have:
- Active MoD DV (UKSV) Clearance – must hold a British passport
- Willing to work full-time on-site in Cheltenham.
Experience/Expertise in the following:
- TCP/IP networks and protocols (OSPF, BGP)
- LAN/WAN design and support
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Advanced knowledge of Routing and Switching (CCNP/CCIE level)
- Familiarity with WAN circuits and solutions (MPLS, VPNs)
- Firewall technologies (Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco)
- Knowledge of Application Delivery Controllers (F5, Citrix)
- Proficiency in networking design and documentation (HLD/LLD)
Desirable Skills:
- Network programmability (Ansible, Python)
- Software-defined networking and virtualization (Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, Nuage)
- Cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure)
