DescriptionAre you excited to drive high-visibility, long term Supply Chain and Transportation plans to help Amazon meet future operational and analytics needs?Looking for a motivated individual with strong analytical skills, supply chain and transportation knowledge, and technology experience to join our Supply Chain Execution Planning and Analytics team as a Business Intel Engineer (BIE). This position partners with several functional groups such as supply chain optimization, fulfillment technology, sales and operations, transportation, and several other key stakeholders throughout the process.As a BIE, you will develop and implement ideas that drive continuous improvement by simplifying processes and driving automation. This position provides opportunities to influence one of the high visibility/high impact areas in the organization.Key job responsibilitiesUse analytical and statistical rigor to solve complex problems and drive business decisionsMine data from database tables (ex. Redshift, MySQL, Oracle) using SQL and log files by writing scripts (ex. PERL, Python, UNIX)Develop deep-dive tools, UIs, metrics, and dashboardsServe as liaison between the business and technical teams to achieve the goal of providing actionable insights into current business performance. This will require data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, running simulations, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.Basic Qualifications3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experienceExperience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar toolsExperience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelinesExperience writing complex SQL queriesExperience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and MatlabExperience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modelingPreferred QualificationsExperience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and RedshiftExperience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasetsAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
