Key Responsibilities

System Administration

  1. Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.
  2. Helps maintain the integrity and security of servers and systems.
  3. Maintains system documentation.
  4. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
  5. Coordinates hardware and software installation and provides backup recovery.
  6. Monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  7. Participates in systems testing and documents results.
  8. Provides advice and training to end-users.
  9. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  10. Monitors IMS and reports incidents with directives.
  11. Monitors AMs/DMs to determine possible impacts to operations of services.
  12. Monitors and cleans up orphaned tickets.
  13. Monitors and enforces compliance of Incident Management Policy.
  14. Maintains Incident Management policy.
  15. Works to improve situational awareness.
  16. Monitors and facilitates resolution of tickets older than 30 days.
  17. Monitors and facilitates tasks for the Problem Management team.
  18. Controls, disseminates, and monitors ticket queues.
  19. Drafts Service Maintenance/Outage/Restoral Announcements.
  20. Facilitates the creation and submission of after-action reports for major incidents and outages when applicable.
  21. Communicates and coordinates with Incident Managers and/or representatives from other contracts when necessary.
  22. Exercises independent judgment and decision-making.
  23. Participates in special projects as required.

Property/Asset Management

  1. Develops and implements system improvements, processes, and procedures necessary to manage and protect government and corporate property investments; supervises assigned staff.
  2. Ensures timely receipt, acquisition, identification, documentation, maintenance, inventory, movement, and storage of property.
  3. Ensures proper disposition of obsolete and excess assets.
  4. Participates in the taking of physical inventories and provides a quarterly inventory report.
  5. Ensures that periodic reviews are completed to verify that appropriate custodial organizations properly maintain and use property, and that records are properly maintained.

Testing

The ideal candidate will support software testing, QA, and CM activities. Reviews and evaluates software products and systems to ensure adherence to company and customer quality standards. Develops software/systems testing procedures and conducts tests.

  1. Works with software developers and engineers to understand requirements, identify test scope and acceptance criteria for release components.
  2. Follows QA release checklist.
  3. Provides QA input to improve installation guides and general deployment documentation.
  4. Develops and updates technical documentation such as test reports.
  5. As needed, provides other QA related and Configuration Management (CM) support.
