Atlas Tech is seeking a Microsoft Systems Engineer for an effort to provide systems engineering and integration of Naval software systems.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Provide knowledge in systems engineering and information technology as it relates to Service and Systems Management.
  2. Develop solutions to solve problems and implement enhancements.
  3. Investigate and resolve issues that span multiple applications/technologies and require involvement from technical personnel across multiple groups.
  4. Develop and/or revise system designs and architectures to improve efficiency, stability, effectiveness, supportability, and sustainability.
  5. Provide feedback on internal processes and recommendations for improvement.
  6. Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related taskings as needed.
  7. Provide technical analysis integral to the maintenance and sustainment of DoD systems.
  8. Provide in-depth research and analysis of issues and new technologies.
  9. Prepare technical briefs to present to engineering review teams.
  10. Integrate COTS and GOTS software into CANES baselines.
  11. Provide technical knowledge to design systems that monitor and manage CANES baselines.
  12. Provide technical knowledge to support and maintain IT enterprise products.
  13. Install test branches on physical hardware on lab equipment as first-level integration tests.
  14. Verify install documentation is executable.

Required Qualifications:
  1. Bachelors Degree and 5+ years of technical IT experience or Associates Degree and 8 years of experience or a High School Diploma and 11+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
  2. Systems Management experience in a systems engineer role overseeing complex IT infrastructure.
  3. Experience with IT monitoring solutions ie: MS Systems Center Operations Manager (SCOM), Solarwinds, ManageEngine, Dynatrace.
  4. Experience with Configuration Management and Asset Compliance solutions ie: MS Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM).
  5. Experience with Ticketing and Help Desk solutions.
  6. Ability to effectively install, configure, and administer in a multi-system and/or multi-application environment.
  7. Experience with Microsoft PowerShell is critical as it is heavily leveraged to automate installation, configuration, hardening, and maintenance tasks.
  8. Ability to automate the installation and configuration of applications.
  9. Working knowledge and experience with Agile framework and Scrum.
  10. Knowledge of Linux/Windows OS and networking from a system design perspective.
  11. Ability to create and test virtualized environments (VMWare, OpenShift, Hyper-V, AWS) for development and testing procedures that are traceable to system requirements.
  12. Working knowledge and experience of System Engineering processes and procedures.
  13. Strong documentation and oral communication skills to clearly communicate with all levels of users, engineers, managers, and organizations.
  14. Ability to work with others in a highly collaborative environment.
  15. Self-Motivated, strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
  16. Ability to multi-task and balance multiple goals and priorities.
  17. Experience with leading and mentoring junior staff while fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  18. U.S. Citizenship.
  19. A minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or be able to obtain an interim security clearance prior to hire date.
  20. DoD 8140/8570 Certifications to be qualified as an Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II.

Desired Qualifications:
  1. A Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering.
  2. Microsoft certification (i.e., MCIT, MCSA, MCSE, etc.).
  3. Experience with Microsoft Systems Center Products (MECM/SCCM/SCOM/SCSM).
  4. Experience with Git, familiarity with Bitbucket, Confluence and Jira.
  5. Knowledgeable with integrated development environment (IDE, Visual Studio Code) for GIT management and code revision.
  6. Experience with Ansible Automation Platform playbook creation and development.
  7. Experience with programming/scripting (Bash/Python/HTML/Java).
  8. Experience with Veeam Backup and Replication.
  9. Experience with automating maintenance, health, and status checks for IT.
  10. Experience with AI/ML for IT Service Management.
  11. Experience with RedHat Ansible or Satellite.
  12. Experience with Knowledge Management systems.
  13. Experience with VMWare virtual infrastructure.
  14. Experience with Linux administration and BASH scripting.
