Role: Java Application Support Engineer
Location: HYBRID - onsite 4X per week in Sorrento Valley, CA
Duration: 12 month contract with extensions based on performance
Pay Rate: negotiable depending on years of experience - $45-$80 per hour
Visa: completely open - no restrictions - C2C is eligible
Must Haves
- 5+ years of application administration experience (specifically Java-based apps and MSSQL/Oracle databases)
- 5+ years of experience deploying java-based enterprise apps in a well-architected framework ensuring good security, monitoring, high availability, etc.
- 5+ years of experience installing, deploying, and configuring applications on Windows and UNIX servers
- 3+ years of experience creating and editing python or shell scripts to automate development
- 3+ years of experience using DevOps tools like Ansible, Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes to write playbooks, automate batching, and automate the installation and deployment process
Day to Day
Insight Global is looking to hire an Application Support Engineer for a local client. The right candidate will have a strong background in system administration, strong experience using AWS services, and configuring java-based applications. The App Support Engineer will wear multiple hats but mostly support debugging of applications on a team that supports 200+ applications ranging from web-based to vendor-based applications. This team currently has strong infrastructure skills but is looking for a partner on the applications side for support. This role is expected to be 50% operations and maintenance and 50% project-based work.
