- Expertise in at least one area of Data Center related technologies - Openstack, SDN, NFV, Load Balancers, Virtualization, Linux tools: Years

- Cisco CCIE certifications will be considered if candidate is interested and successful transitioning to Arista technology in the first six months:
Description:
- technology expert in the Routing & Switching, Wi-Fi and Network Packet Broker space to design, implement, and support (troubleshoot) our Datacenter and Campus Networking deployments within a number of infrastructures.
- The ideal candidate will also have a level of comfort communicating across all functions within VRS, as well as with vendors and partners
- You will provide advanced engineering support for Arista's Open Networking Data Center and Campus networking deployments for Virginia Retirement System
- Review network designs for an EVPN, VxLAN, leaf-spine architecture and make recommendations for deployment, upgrades, enhancements or improvements as required
- Deploying and maintaining Arista's Network Packet Broker solutions
- Migrate or interconnect to/from Cisco, Juniper, and other vendors to Arista infrastructure
- Assist with configuration buildouts including creating network provisioning automation using Python and tools such as Chef or Ansible
- Assist with implementation and change controls
- You will assist with proof of concepts (POC) and in-depth testing to validate design scenario
- Interfaces with Arista TAC
- Translate complex business requirements into Leaf-Spine Network solutions
- Continues technology, security, and networking training to maintain expertise
- Ability to understand VRS business objectives and technical needs
- Ability to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for VRS networking infrastructure
- Regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment
- Maintain professional relationships with teammates, partners, and business teams
- Some travel may be required to Dallas, TX
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Network Industry Certification preferred Arista ACE 4 or above
- Expert working knowledge of CloudVision
- Experience with Arista (preferably) or other commercial Wi-Fi platform
- 5+ years' working experience with network technologies including network design and deployments of Campus and Data Center networks.
- Knowledge of leaf-spine architectures is critical.
- Expert knowledge in the following areas: Ethernet, VLANs, VxLAN, VPN, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, eBGP, Multicast, QoS, Wi-Fi, VoIP
- Expertise in at least one area of Data Center related technologies - Openstack, SDN, NFV, Load Balancers, Virtualization, Linux tools
- Background in Perl, Python, Scripting for creating network automation is highly desired
- Palo Alto and NetScaler experience highly desirable
- Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
- Excellent written skills and the ability to do related documentation and ticket tracking
- Cisco CCIE certifications will be considered if candidate is interested and successful transitioning to Arista technology in the first six months.
