DrBalcony, a pioneering civil engineering start-up specializing in balcony and structural designs, is seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Structural Designer to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and analyzing structural components, primarily focusing on balcony systems, ensuring the safety, functionality, and efficiency of the structures we deliver to our clients.

The Structural Designer will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to prepare structural designs, calculations, and drawings, and ensure compliance with industry standards and building codes. This is a great opportunity for a civil engineering graduate with a concentration in structural engineering who is looking to gain experience and grow within a dynamic and fast-paced start-up environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop structural systems and components for balconies and related structures, ensuring that they meet safety, functionality, and durability requirements.
  • Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications for construction.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure structural designs comply with local building codes, industry standards, and client specifications.
  • Perform structural analysis using software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software to ensure accuracy in designs.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports, calculations, and construction documents.
  • Conduct site visits, when necessary, to assess project requirements and monitor construction progress.
  • Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other team members to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in structural engineering, materials, and construction methods.
  • Provide technical support to the engineering team and assist in resolving design-related issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering .
  • 0-3 years of experience in structural design (internships or entry-level work experience considered).
  • Proficiency in structural design software such as AutoCAD , Revit , and structural analysis tools (ETABS , STAAD Pro , or similar).
  • Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and building codes, particularly related to structural design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in structural calculations and designs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced start-up environment.
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow in the field of structural engineering.
  • Passed the FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam or working toward it is a plus.
