The Role:HMS is looking for a highly motivated Controls Hardware Engineer for the Metal Stamping Industry.Responsible for the design and development of Pressroom automation and Full Servo Transfer equipment. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal design, purchasing, vendors and external contractors in order to deliver an integrated manufacturing solution. Must be willing to tackle whatever technical challenge presents itself and be willing to assist and learn from others in their areas of expertise.Principal Responsibilities:Receive line-up from Project engineer or customerDetermine and design control circuitsDetermine components used and develop B.O.M for Purchasing Dept.Design or choose electrical control panelDesign sub plate layoutLayout print package in AutoCADDetail print package in AutoCADCheck designPrepare approvals, build and final documentation for releaseRetrieve technical information on process, components and logical communicationsDetermine customer specificationsInform Project Manager of project statusNote: This position has some supervisory responsibilitiesQualifications (skills, knowledge, experience):Training in AutoCAD or AutoCAD ElectricalKnowledge of electrical and pneumatic circuits and componentsKnowledge of machine process, set-up and cablingKnowledge of mechanical printsKnowledge of electrical controls draftingKnowledge of electrical protection, power distribution, servo motion and PLC configurationsAbility to pay attention to detailWorks well with minimal supervisionGood organizational skillsWorks well with others
