They may research, develop specifications for, design, write, modify, test, debug, troubleshoot, document and maintain source code. They will have direct or related involvement in designing related databases, user interfaces, integrations to other systems and applications, content or multimedia processes.The Programmer Analyst applies skills as a seasoned, experienced software professional with a full understanding of industry practices, community standards and relevant policies and procedures. They are responsible for medium-sized projects or portions of large projects with moderate scope and complexity. They will resolve a wide range of issues, selecting appropriate tools, methods and techniques to obtain results.Duties may include:Develop, evaluate and implement complex softwareAnalyze existing software for new complex systems and algorithmsPerform complex analysis, tests and debuggingAnalyze the design and use of complex data sourcesApply moderately complex programming security practicesNegotiate, develop and execute moderately complex test plansPerform complex data modeling, performance and testingMonitor and employ control techniques and configuration managementDevelop recommendations for approval and implements changesOther duties as assignedrr Minimum Qualifications:rHigh School Diploma or equivalent{=html} - Five years of professional experience as a programmer/developer with progressive levels of complexity and responsibility including: - Applying intermediate level secure software development practices - Applying advanced skills in software design, modification, implementation and deployment, including object-oriented programming concepts - Understanding basic functional needs and how systems can support those needs; assisting with translating those needs into software specifications - Performing software testing and writing moderately complex test plans - Using common programming tools - Utilizing software repositories for code storage and versioning - Identifying and using code libraries and open-source forums - Communicating technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization - Developing conversion and/or system implementation plans for basic changes - Serving as a subject matter expert on small to moderate sized projectsrr Preferred Qualifications:rBachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related fieldExperience with:Higher education technologyEllucian Banner ERP systemsWriting program documentation in accordance with published standards.SQLPLUS, PL/SQL, Pro*C, etc. in an Oracle/Linux environmentDeveloping user-facing web applicationsProgramming with Javascript or .NetObject oriented languages such as Java or GroovyREST or SOAP protocols as well as other related web servicesComputer security issues and the ability to apply this knowledge in the design and development of systemsTroubleshooting software development issues and efficiently resolving the issues in a timely fashionDevelopment workflow and version control toolsSDLC and/or Agile methodologiesUnderstanding the relationships between ERP, CRM, CMS, third-party solutions, relational databases, data warehouse, etc.rr Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:rNoneNonerr Required Licensures, Certifications or otherrrr Posting Number: SP004618Prr Posting Date: 10/14/2024rr Closing Date:rr Open Until Filled: Yesrr Special Instructions:rThis position is open until filled; however, applications received on or before October 28, 2024 will receive first consideration.Posting will remain open until a suitable pool of candidates is identified.Applicants:Please use your letter of qualification to explain in detail how your work experience, skills, and abilities meet both the required and preferred qualifications as listed in the position description.
