This is an on-site position. Regular business operation hours are: 7:00am - 4:30pm.

Position Description:

The Design Engineer is responsible for designing hydraulic cylinder solutions to meet customer requirements.

Primary Objectives:

  • Generate innovative & accurate CAD models and drawings for hydraulic cylinder solutions.
  • Develop working relationships with customers to gather requirements, understand application demands, and become an extension of their engineering department.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure components & assemblies can be manufactured efficiently and consistently.
  • Continuously improve engineering processes and standards to support company growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Create CAD models and drawings for new designs, ECOs, and Engineering Projects
  • Interface with customers to gather information required for designs.
  • Process and document product safety factors for customer review and sign-off.
  • Check the design work of other team members prior to Engineering release.
  • Develop engineering standards and procedures to improve efficiency and consistency
  • Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing issues and creating long term solutions
  • Provide technical support to the sales team for quoting and after sales support
  • Engage in EOS/Traction initiatives: participate in weekly meetings, complete quarterly rocks (projects), etc
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Occasional travel required (customer and field locations, vendors, trade shows, continuing education, etc.):
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology. Other technical degrees with relevant work experience may be considered.
  • Proficient in a 3-D CAD modeling package, Autodesk Inventor preferred
  • Knowledge of hydraulic circuits preferred
  • Proficient in designing new components from a photograph, sketch, or drawing
  • Knowledge of machining, welding, assembly, tools, and fixturing
  • Demonstrate ability to cooperate with others to implement change in a way that positively impacts other departments and overall company performance
  • Ability to multi task, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
