Job Requirements / Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
• Evaluate drawings and specifications to create CNC programs and related information using company programming software,
adopting the correct tooling, speeds, feeds, and depths of cut appropriate for the material and equipment.
• Communicate with machine shop management to ensure programs and tooling are readily available based on machine
schedules and backlog.
• Communicate with employees to understand component setup, fixturing and methods of manufacture while using CNC
programs.
• Inspect and confirm programming output is error free and conforms to customer drawing or specification requirements prior to
production.
• Assist in design and manufacturing of any fixturing or related tooling as required to manufacture components.
• Evaluate cycle times and programming efficiencies regularly to implement options for improvement to the machining processes.
• Research new technologies and techniques to benefit the current process in quality and efficiency.
• Using prior experience, assist employees on any equipment control issues as required to troubleshoot error codes or alarms.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Attend and participate in group meetings related to business topics.
• Complete online and onsite training assignments as required within specified time period.
• Assist sales at quotation stage as requested to provide estimating support in proposal preparation.
• Establish an increasing knowledge of components and the processes needed to machine them.
• Continually educate oneself and improve on current programming system capabilities and upgrades.
• Wear provided PPE and follow established HSE programs.
• All other duties or tasks as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
• Demonstrated knowledge of utilizing machine tool equipment using Fanuc, Toshiba or Okuma controls.
• Ability to perform editing or operate large machine equipment safely if required.
• Understands technical drawings and instructions to perform duties effectively.
• Knowledge of machining processes involved with components requiring weld cladding.
• Experience in a wide variety of cutting tools, fixtures and related setup equipment normally associated with a large machine
shop.
• Experience using ITS or Cogsdill contouring equipment an advantage.
• Ability to discuss manufacturing problems with others professionally to achieve satisfactory results.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks daily in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Skilled in operating individually and as part of a team environment working together to improve throughput.
• Ability to communicate effectively using English as the main language.
• Reliable and willingness to work additional hours in order to meet tight deadlines.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 10 years or more experience in the setup and operation of large CNC mills and lathes.
• 5 years or more using Gibbscam CNC programming software daily in their normal role.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
• Frequent sitting, walking, standing and climbing.
• Frequent periods of high noise levels.
• Exposure to fluids, dust, fumes and mist
