As Universal Avionics Mechanical Engineer III, you will perform engineering design and testing of electronic and opto-mechanical systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Mechanical design of avionics equipment based on systems requirements
  • Perform thermal and structural analyses to support design approach
  • Modify existing designs based on engineering and manufacturing inputs
  • Provide sustaining support to engineering, manufacturing, and procurement personnel as required
This classification includes engineers who are capable of handling complex engineering assignments with little direct supervision or oversight.
Minimum Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years electronics design experience
  • Working knowledge of PCB assemblies, machining/mill operations, sheet metal design/fabrication and analysis techniques.
  • Thermal and structural finite element analysis experience
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 environment
  • 5+ years working in an integrated project team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Computer Skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Proficient with personal computers and computer operating systems.
