Catalyst Technologies (CT) is a market leader in the syngas value chain. It develops and supplies high-value, specialty process technology and catalysts for chemicals and fuels processing to enable our customers to operate efficiently, profitably, and sustainably.

The Engineering Technology Manager is responsible for managing and participating with local and global engineering/R&D teams to ensure the ongoing development and commercialization of CATACEL SSR, as well as supporting manufacturing operations and automation projects.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage CATACEL SSR product R&D and NPI project, using in-house and global technical and related resources to devise and execute workable and commercially practical technical solutions for complex product and manufacturing challenges.
  • Provide technical input and support to the global commercial and product modelling teams.
  • Communicate with commercial teams and customers to guide them towards viable technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical problems and document results.
  • Strategically develop CATACEL Technology coating capabilities. Devise new and disruptive product and process concepts, and drive the techno-commercial efforts needed to advance internal and external relationships and technology development.
  • Organize and manage complex technical project delivery.
  • Develop cost estimates and project plans.
  • Perform technical engineering analyses in process, chemical, mechanical, and energy disciplines, making decisions on approach and defining resulting path forward.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, process work instructions and other documentation created by the team.
  • Use LEAN manufacturing techniques and principles in mechanical manufacturing process development.
  • Ensure that technical risks are managed appropriately.
  • Ensure strategic development and maintenance of the CATACEL Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Take on any other duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.

Requirements for the role:

  • Master’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering, plus 7-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Technical strength in process design, systems design, energy systems, heat transfer, fluids, thermodynamics, systems modeling.
  • Computer skills – MS office, CAD, Project.
  • Strong understanding of process elements and engineering issues.
  • Engineering, analytical and calculation skills – mass balance, heat and energy balance, thermodynamics, materials.
  • Able to analyze, interpret, and react to technical issues.
  • Mechanical awareness.
  • Knowledge and experience of basic shop safety.
  • Project management experience.
  • Design of experiments, analytical methods.
  • Able to work with hands and tools.
  • Knowledge of LEAN principles.
