What The Role Entails
CloudHQ is seeking a dynamic and well-versed Commissioning Engineer. The Commissioning Engineer role will be a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on experience, working closely with data center operations team to maintain high reliability.
Note: this is not a remote role. The candidate will need to be in the DMV area to perform this role.
Travel: 10% or less.
What You Get to Do
- Assist in planning and executing major maintenance and replacement activities.
- Develop scripts/procedures for standard and emergency procedures.
- Facilitate table-top exercises and drills to improve incident response.
- Assist with troubleshooting issues that affect Uptime.
- Assist in reviewing design for new projects and provide feedback around operability.
- Identify and assist in executing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Actively represent the Operations team in factory witness tests for new equipment.
- Assist in evaluating new equipment and technologies.
- Conduct reviews of design packages, monitoring, and analyzing equipment tests.
- Assist with turnover of new equipment and buildings.
- Assist in performing root-cause analysis.
Requirements
What You Bring to The Role
- An Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in commissioning and/or operations in a mission-critical environment.
- Keen understanding of data center systems (electrical or mechanical)
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to exercise critical judgement
- Demonstrated professional verbal and written communication skills
- Expertise in core Microsoft office suite applications (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task while managing changing priorities for multiple projects
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation
- Ability to maintain excellent relationships with contractors, clients, and other departments
- Ability and willingness to move about the work area and travel to worksites as needed or required.
- Ability and willingness to respond to emails and phone calls after hours in the event of an emergency
