Position Description
CGI Federal is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with proven technical experience to join its Healthcare Practice. We are seeking someone who can be part of a large team in a dynamic and changing environment with specific experience with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Projects include supporting an AWS upgrade, software solution development and maintenance for mission critical applications in the federal healthcare space.
Candidates within a 50 miles radius of a CGI Federal office will have to report to the office 2 days per week.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Perform daily DevOps tasks.
- Write scripts used to automate functionality or are ad-hoc scripts to accomplish a one-time task.
- Debug and test software.
- Build reusable code for your organization.
- Design and implement systems for testing.
- Improve current deployment and monitoring to enhance software delivery processes.
- Collaborate with developers, getting feedback to determine software condition.
- Perform deployments in the Implementation and Production environments.
- Create IaC scripts as needed to stand up AWS infrastructure.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- Possesses 5+ years' experience designing, implementing, developing, and maintaining AWS services.
- Experience with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
- Experience developing and deploying cloud solutions and services that are designed to scale in the federal sector (preferably HHS/CMS) - is considered a Plus!
- In-depth knowledge of AWS services like EC2, S3, VPC, EKS, MWAA etc.
- Design, develop, and implement data engineering solutions on the Databricks platform.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Databricks workflows and pipelines.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to Databricks and big data processing.
- Working experience in setting up CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub and open-source tools.
- Experience in provisioning AWS resources using Terraform and/or Cloudformation scripts.
- Drive designing, implementing, developing, and maintaining AWS services-based solutions in emerging technology.
- Drive technical discussions and explain best approaches to solutions and product options to meet customer needs and explain it to the non-technical department handling the issues.
- Experience with developing and deploying serverless architectures using Lambda.
- Experience to build scalable production systems (load balancers, master/slave architectures).
- Experience in securing applications and data using encryption services like KMS.
- Experience working with Security and Compliance tools like AWS SecurityHub, AWS Inspector, and AWS Config.
- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting performance issues.
- Participate in various requirements sessions with internal and external stakeholders and convert business / functional requirements into technical solutions, along with supporting materials such as use cases, designs, flowcharts, models, specifications, and reports.
- Provide technical support to requirements, development, testing, help desk, and training teams.
- Work directly with users, client, and project teams.
- One (1) professional and one (1) specialty AWS certification.
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to: skill set level; experience and training; and licensure and certifications. CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $84,000 - $146,900.
