Responsibilities

  • Work with foremen to plan, organize and direct activities concerned with construction projects.
  • Ensure employees are following the established rules and acting in the best interest of Fraser Engineering.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specifications. Confer with foremen to discuss such matters as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper permits: Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Hot Work, Dig Safe, Building, Police Details.
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with owners and other contacts to facilitate project activities.
  • Monitor and control project through administrative direction of on-site foremen to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Investigate potentially serious situations (safety hazards, schedule delays, expense issues, employee, sub or owner issues) and implement corrective measures.
  • Represent company in project meetings and attend strategy (progress, start up, close out) meetings.
  • Work with Controller to manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the customer.
  • Work with Accounting on receivables and payable items.
  • Work with the Controller on any overdue accounts 60-90 days if necessary.
  • Ordering and coordinating delivery of supplies and materials to complete project.
  • Assist and expedite in the buyout of materials/equipment/rentals.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, field workers, clients and subcontractors.

Qualifications

  • Four to ten years related experience
  • Extensive multi-leveled experience with best practices, policies, and procedures in the Mechanical field to gain detailed understanding of all levels of operations and showing steady career progression
  • A degree or college diploma in business, technical or management
