As the Drive & Control Company, we develop, produce, and distribute our components and system solutions in over 80 countries.Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Design Engineer II will be responsible for carrying out the duties of the Engineering Department, including design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, estimating and process improvement. The successful candidate will collaborate with design, laboratory technicians, purchasing, sales, manufacturing, and assembly teams on design projects.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist in the development and testing of new productsSolve design problems; adapt, alter, and/or improve existing productsInterpret design input via CAD using PTC Creo and translate into design of custom hydraulic manifold housings or valves, and develop detailed drawings for the productCollaborate with testing, purchasing and manufacturing teams on design projectsLead design reviews for specific projects involving various departmentsWrite technical reports after analyzing and interpreting data from various test sourcesDrive continuous efficiency and effectiveness in day-to-day activitiesFollow through on projects from start to serial productionUse analysis software including ANSYS, Fluent, Maxwell, MATLAB, and HYSANUse documentation software including Q-Pulse and PDMLink (managing ECRs, ECNs & PECNs)Support the organization with sharing and implementing best practices across all locationsOther duties and responsibilities as assigne dPhysical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:Lift and move a minimum of 5 pounds without assistanceWork EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely takes place in a standard office setting, but occasionally the role can be exposed to a variety of potentially hazardous conditions. PPE is supplied and required in such environments. The noise level in the work environment can be soft toQualificationsQualifications and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or related field or relevant experience in lieu3+ years’ work experience.CAD proficiency with PTC CreoHydraulic manifold design or complex layout designIntermediate understanding of manufacturing processesFirm understanding of drafting practices; working knowledge of geometric tolerance practicIntermediate understanding of valve types and functions; valve symbols and valve port logicAbility to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solveAccurate and detail oriented, with the ability to follow through on tasks and objectivesAbility to function effectively as part of a teamIntermediate technical writing ability to provide in depth conclusions regarding test data • Ability to work on and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to effectively communicate with all levels throughout the organizationAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
