LightFeather is currently seeking talented Java Microservice Developers who are well versed in Cloud, DevOps/Security and Agile. Successful candidates must demonstrate a high degree of initiative, passion for innovation, a solid understanding of software engineering, and a willingness to work in a highly collaborative Agile and DevOps culture.

This is a Remote Position.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop enterprise-level microservices using Java Spring Boot framework.
  2. Write and execute software tests to ensure quality and functionality.
  3. Analyze user requirements to guide application design and development.
  4. Establish clear application goals and define core functionalities.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges efficiently.
  6. Create comprehensive design documentation for use by engineering teams.
  7. Provide a detailed roadmap for enhancing the current Java Spring Boot microservice architecture.
  8. Develop user-friendly documentation to support end users.
  9. Collaborate in a cross-functional Agile team, with a focus on automation, continuous integration (CI), and continuous delivery (CD) practices.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  1. US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust with full BI clearance or above. Active or prior DHS Public Trust with full BI or higher clearance is preferred.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or IT-related field.
  3. 5+ years of progressively responsible software engineering.
  4. 5+ years of experience in the Information Technology field.
  5. 5+ years of specific software engineering related to Java Spring Boot microservice applications.
  6. Strong understanding of deploying microservices as a containerized service to EKS preferably (or ECS).
  7. Strong understanding of maintaining CICD deployments of containerized services involving Jenkins and/or Harness.io.
  8. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
  9. Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery techniques.
  10. Experience with test-driven development and automated testing practices.
  11. Experience in large scale, high performance enterprise big data application deployment and solution architecture on complex heterogeneous environments in AWS.
  12. Demonstrated growth mindset, enthusiastic about learning new technologies quickly and applying gained knowledge to address business problems.
  13. Ability to communicate with clients on a business level and translate their needs into a technical solution.
