An understanding of project management, business principles, and risk mitigation is also desirable.This position will develop and lead programs for technology evaluations via a structured stage gate process. Candidates will interface with other areas within the organization, including business development, vertical management, sales, and intellectual property. Occasional travel for system start-up, optimization, and field trials may be required, as well as to interface with internal business stakeholders.Roles and Responsibilities:Understand emerging water treatment technologies and assess their capabilitiesConduct cost-benefit analyses for novel water and wastewater treatment processesGenerate project proposals and coordinate interdisciplinary teams to execute project scopeDevelop pilot systems to validate their performance, alone or in conjunction with other processesDefine the sizing and materials for equipment including pumps, piping, valves, and instrumentationDevelop general arrangement, process flow, and process and instrumentation diagramsDevelop handover packages and project documentation for execution teamsRequired Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent)3-5 years of job experienceKnowledge of Microsoft Office tools is expectedExperience using CAD systems preferredProfessional registration not required but considered a plusDesired experience may include an understanding of water treatment processes such as membrane filtration, media filtration, carbon absorption, ion exchange, disinfection, advanced oxidation, and biological wastewater treatment.Additional Information:Location: Pittsburgh, PATravel: Some travel anticipatedEmployment Status: Full-Time EmployeeBenefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, self-managed PTOOther: All candidates required to pass a background check/drug screenSalary range:$62,000.00 - $99,000.00Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
