This Senior Mechanical Engineer will be on a dynamic team, programming undersea systems engineering at our Silva, RI location. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact toward our military defense and safety of our sailors.

This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer your Secret clearance and customer approval.

You will be part of a team that works closely with the customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality systems.

In this role, you will:

  • You will be part of the Mechanical Engineering team in the drafting, editing, review, and verification of design plans and technical manuals.
  • Overall, you will be part of an Engineering team consisting of mechanical and electrical engineers that works closely with the customer in delivering quality products and services to the fleet.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) reviews on technical manuals, drawings, and other deliverables before sending to the customer.
  • Edit new and revised relevant technical documentation.
  • Assist the customer with coordinating meetings, discussions, and action items as needed.
  • Maintain workload and respond to tasking within the schedule and technical requirements identified.
  • Assist, guide, and mentor junior Engineers, as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 8-10 years of Mechanical Engineering experience. Military experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must have a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Solidworks or similar, is required.
  • Experience performing modeling and simulation of mechanical systems.
  • Effective organization level communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs: MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10%.
