Members of Enterprise Operations Services ( EOS ) design, implement and operate enterprise, private-cloud IT infrastructures for applications and services used by Virginia’s Community Colleges. EOS members also provide best practices, technical leadership, and consulting services to those supporting IT infrastructure at the VCCS colleges.
The ES members and teams support the evaluation, analysis, design, testing, and implementation of the enterprise IT infrastructure in the deployment of new IT services. This position is a member of the Database Services Team which maintains and supports database management system architecture and associated infrastructure used in ITS -hosted services.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications

Comprehensive knowledge:

• Oracle RDBMS 19c and above
• Database backup and recovery
• Oracle Oracle Enterprise Manager
• SnapManager for Oracle
• Rubrik
• Oracle Connection Manager

Considerable knowledge:

• Change Management
• Incident Management
• Request Management

Working knowledge:

• Writing SQL and PL/ SQL
• Oracle Exadata DB
• Data Guard
• RMAN

Considerable skill:

• Database Security
• Database Patching
• SQL Performance Tuning
• Database installations and upgrades

Working skill:

• Unix shell scripting
• Asset and Configuration management
