The Junior Electrical Engineer will be working alongside the senior electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, and software engineers on medical device development. This role is multi-disciplinary with technical responsibility for our device electrical system, PCBs, and wiring diagrams, providing continuous feedback on the development process and accepting feedback as well. It is also expected that some software development for the device is performed by the Junior Electrical Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of hardware electrical design and exposure to software development for hardware. We are looking for a team player who views medical device development as a competitive advantage. We are a rapidly growing business with the opportunity for the right candidate to continue advancing their role and responsibilities as the company grows.

What You’ll Do:

  2. Designing precision motion stages and components, electromechanical system parts and assemblies in a CAD environment.
  3. Developing low-level device control software in C++ with guidance.
  4. Documentation, including schematics, wire harness drawings, PCB files, and component specifications for FDA processes.
  5. Modelling and developing electrical systems throughout the device, such as stepper and DC motor control, AC power systems, low voltage data, and high sensitivity analog and digital signals.
  6. Designing and prototyping analog and digital circuits, primarily for integration of sensors.
  7. Building cable harnesses, designing signal and power distribution networks.
  8. Building prototypes and test fixtures including instrumenting with data acquisition systems and programming.
  9. Unit and system testing of prototype designs.
  10. Role may require some travel.

Our Perfect Candidate:
