We’re looking for a GRC systems engineer with a tech-first mindset that can help grow and enhance Nordstrom GRC and Legal teams! Key Responsibilities

  • Champion GRC platform and engineering efforts, becoming an owner at heart for our systems.
  • Drive process improvements, solution efficiencies, documentation, and education around tasks and workflows in the tools managed.
  • Develop competencies in all tools managed by the GRC Engineering team.
  • Meet with internal customers to understand requirements and build upon those requirements.
  • Provide proactive recommendations on solution design or improvements, utilizing the latest features and tools available.
  • Create opportunities for internal customer training and upskilling, generate training materials and lead efforts to train stakeholders.
  • Conceptualize, design, and document solutions for business cases with internal customers while owning the design & architecture elements.
  • Help drive a common technology model to ensure cross-enterprise functionality.
  • Balance excellent customer service to our internal customers while also advocating for best engineering practices.
  • Mentor fellow team members and other engineers throughout the organization.
  • Help organize large implementations into executable parts, including delegating to other team members as needed for capacity, timing, or training.
  • Able to participate in 5x12 on-call rotation (when needed).
  • Deliver consulting, customer service, engineering, project management, and support work.

Specific Competencies

  • 3+ years’ experience working within a GRC platform implementing new solutions/workflows as well as managing existing workflows through enhancements, bug fixes and other changes, Onspring GRC experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Security and Compliance in the enterprise, including but not limited to Security Infrastructure, Security Assessments, PCI/SOX/SOC Compliance at the enterprise level preferred.
  • Adept at building partnerships across multiple business units and executing effectively.
  • Possess strong consulting, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and competing priorities while staying on time for deliverables.
  • Capacity to prepare systems for API integrations is recommended; understanding and/or experience developing APIs is a bonus!
  • A capability to truly listen to our customers and partners, internalize their needs and develop simple and elegant solutions that they can’t live without.
  • Conveys difficult messages or feedback in a direct manner.
  • Demonstrates an ability to make tough decisions and advance initiatives that may be unpopular.
  • Understanding of software development methodologies and practices, including agile development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
  • Ability to understand tradeoffs for decisions and to communicate and document those tradeoffs effectively.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Seattle WA - 114,000.00 - 176,500.00 USD Annually (depending on experience). This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
