OVERVIEW:
The Manufacturing Engineer will play a critical role in optimizing and improving our manufacturing processes, with a focus on heavy equipment machining and fabrication. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of relevant experience and a strong background in engineering principles, process improvement, and project management. This position requires a hands-on approach, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process Optimization: Analyze and improve existing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Machining and Fabrication: Oversee the machining and fabrication of heavy equipment parts, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- Project Management: Lead and manage manufacturing projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with budgetary constraints.
- Tooling and Equipment: Select, design, and maintain tooling and equipment necessary for the machining and fabrication processes.
- Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure products meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to production teams, addressing issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, incorporating lean manufacturing principles and best practices.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for processes, equipment, and quality control measures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality assurance, to achieve manufacturing objectives.
- Safety: Promote and adhere to safety standards and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or relevant experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on heavy equipment machining, welding and fabrication.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, CNC programming, and a high understanding of machining, fabrication and welding processes.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing complex manufacturing projects, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Lean Manufacturing: Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in manufacturing or project management (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP) are a plus.
- Experience: Prior experience in the heavy equipment industry is highly desirable.
