Product Engineer

Insight Global is seeking an Aftermarket Product Engineer to join a global manufacturer of mining products located in Lexington, KY. This person will join a corporate office related to a specific branch of global product sales, supply chain, design, and service as it is related to underground Mining Products. This candidate will have experience working with 3D design software as well as have a working knowledge of 2D design. The end client is looking for a candidate who is excited to join a very cohesive team, that is passionate about a career within the engineering world, and has the ability to hit the ground running.

Day to Day:

• Aiding in the design and product support of aftermarket parts related to heavy machinery that is used within the mining industry, for mainly rock crushing and rock removal as follows:
• 40% Troubleshooting and Field Support
• Engaging with customers as a factory representative
• Travel to various mine sites, factories to support machines
• Visiting underground mines
• Inspecting equipment and completing root cause analyses
• 30% of your time will be spent designing
• Aftermarket Design (Replacement parts, machine modifications, etc.)
• 20% Doing Proposals
• Working with sales teams to understand the feasibility of proposals
• Developing engineering/service solution proposals, presenting to internal and external customers
• 10% Execution
• Following through with design – ensuring it's done correctly
• Engaging business partners downstream of engineering throughout solution development and market introduction process
• Ensuring engineered solution meets customer needs and delivery requirements
• Project management & taking on project management activities through aftermarket solution design cycle (Cradle-to-grave ownership)
• Experience troubleshooting/resolving mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and multi-system issues
