Oracle Software Development Director - Helena, Montana
As part of the Data Services organization, we are chartered to build a net new fully managed OCI Cloud service. Many use cases that customers try to address need more than one data service to function properly, and the new service will bring together multiple data services (e.g., OCI Data Flow, OCI Data Integration) under a single pane of glass with a highly evolved user experience.
We are looking for an experienced Director of Engineering to help us lead and build components of the new service and maintain current customer-facing services. Candidates should excel in a large geographically distributed team and have the drive to achieve impactful results on established schedules.
Qualifications:
- Experience leading engineering teams that have delivered successful products and services.
- Experience with cloud services and establishing operational excellence.
- Ability to set the technical direction.
- Experience building high-performing geographically distributed engineering teams.
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and talent development skills.
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to prioritize.
- Experience establishing software development standards and processes.
- Experience with Big Data systems like Apache Spark, Apache Ranger, Apache Hive, and other related open-source products.
Basic Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (or Bachelor's degree and additional experience) in Computer Sciences or equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience in software development.
- 5+ years of experience leading teams in cloud/enterprise level initiatives.
- Experience in software design and coding in a modern programming language.
- Experience developing distributed systems and understanding of scale, security, reliability, and performance.
Responsibilities:
As a director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging, or designing software applications, operating systems, and databases according to provided design specifications.

Range and Benefits:
