STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES is seeking an exceptional Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team! This role will primarily focus on supporting our industrial and power generation verticals with a home base in Kansas City, MO. This position offers a flexible work schedule with a hybrid option to work from home 2 to 3 days per week.



As a collective force, the Structural Group companies – PULLMAN, STRUCTURAL, and STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES – are the largest specialty concrete repair contractor in the United States. Our integrated investigate-design-build teams identify problems, create repair solutions, and implement repair projects to address the needs of clients in power generation, industrial, and other key markets.



At STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES, we dedicate ourselves to collaborating closely with our integrated repair companies. Together, we perform field investigations and develop repair solutions for existing structures and buildings. This role requires in-depth knowledge of structural design principles and behaviors, including for chimneys and cooling towers; rotating and fixed equipment foundations; and environmental (liquid-retaining) tanks and structures.

Position Requirements:


  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE)
  • 5+ years of applicable experience, including experience in power generation or industrial facilities.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for site visits.
  • Technical accuracy and attention to detail in design
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills



Responsibilities:


  • Analyze data to facilitate repair solution development.
  • Prepare calculations using a combination of hand methods and finite element analysis software.
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, and written reports.
  • Supporting field evaluation and assessment of existing structures



Preferred Skills and Certifications


  • Experience working with structural steel, wood, and aluminum design.
  • Experience working with OSHA fall protection standards for scaffolding and rigging.
  • Familiarity with American Concrete Institute (ACI) and International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) codes, standards, guidelines, and recommended practices for the design, construction, and repair of concrete structures.
  • Enthusiasm and curiosity for solving problems and understanding how things work.
  • Solid understanding of how structures behave.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis Software such as SAP2000, RISA and Staad. Pro
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Graduate degree in civil or structural engineering a plus
