Implementation Engineer - Accounting (ERP)

JOB TITLE: Implementation Engineer – Accounting (ERP)

REPORTS TO: Enterprise Services Associate Director – ERP/Utilities
JOB LOCATION: Remote (US Based)
TRAVEL: Up to 40%
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
An Implementation Engineer – Accounting (ERP) will work closely with client stakeholders to understand requirements and configure software solutions to meet client needs. Preferred candidates will have working experience in the accounting industry, including technical proficiency with nonprofit and/or government management software and database management and basic Governmental Accounting (GASB), GAAP - AR, AP, Payroll and General Ledger knowledge.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reviews contracts for understanding and adherence to the scope of work
• Consults with and partners with internal and external stakeholders to understand client’s business processes
• Report project/workstream statuses/risks to Project Managers
• Sets up and conducts product overview and solution demonstrations
• Analyzes current state and future state to ensure features and functionality meets scoped requirements, including compliance requirements
• Installs databases and software and configures the solution to meet the client’s needs
• Creates test cases and runs tests to find and correct errors, and validate the implementation meets specifications
• Trains and/or assists with client/end-user training
• Provides client support during testing, go live and post go live
• Triage, debugs and resolves defects
• Migrates solution to production and performs post-production review
• Reviews client requests for enhancements and engages with the needed departments for scoping and contracting
• Works with Support to transition client solutions to the maintenance phase
• Adheres to communication standards to ensure clients are informed of status, progress, and risks/issues
• Facilitates internal and external meetings
• Maintains positive relationships with both internal and external partners
• Creates system or implementation process documentation for internal and external stakeholders
• Provides technical guidance and knowledge transfer to technical client and project team members
• Develops and improves project and internal documentation and processes

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):

• Associate degree in accounting related field or 2+ years of software/IT client service experience
• Knowledgeable in MS Excel, SQL, XML, scripting languages, and/or Java
• Excellent communication skills with ability to build collaborative relationships
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-starter
• Detail-oriented
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):

• 2+ years’ experience in a software training and implementation environment
• 2+ years' experience with financials/accounting
• Hands on experience developing in SQL, XML, scripting languages, Java and/or Groovy
