As a Structures Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Analyze and prepare project designs, calculations and drawings for reinforced concrete, foundations and retaining structures, pre-stressed/post-tensioned concrete, structural steel, reinforced masonry, timber, and concrete repair & restoration, with guidance provided on assigned tasks as required.
2. Accurately apply appropriate structural engineering principles, including building application of vertical & lateral forces (wind & seismic), mechanics of structures, finite element analysis (FEA), and structural dynamics of buildings for seismic design.
3. Conduct special inspections of Structural Systems (Concrete, Steel, Masonry, Wood).
4. Approach tasks with an open mindset; propose innovative solutions to design problems.
5. Prepare engineering reports and contract documents for review.
6. May assign, track, and review tasks of technicians or designers; technical discretion applied to first revision of technician work product.
7. Potential to serve as the Engineer-of-Record on assigned engineering tasks.
8. Responsible for managing timely completion of multiple assigned tasks.
9. Communicate effectively with team members, internal design groups, and external entities including clients, subconsultants, and relevant government agencies.
10. Effectively present proposed design solutions as part of internal project meetings; may attend and contribute to presentations with external parties.
11. Adhere to company marketing requirements by providing timely personal resume updates and participating in marketing campaigns.
12. Ensure timely completion of time sheets and expense reports.
13. Take ownership of personal career development by seeking and providing feedback, seizing opportunities to develop new skills, and setting and pursuing personal goals.
14. Contribute to the development of other team members through mentorship and modeling positive behaviors.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering.
2. Professional Engineer (PE).
3. Years of Experience: 4+ years.
4. Experience in the review and preparation of building structures plans for clients.
