Within the IAM org, the Data Sync team is responsible for building highly scalable and performant solutions that synchronize customer and user data across the multitude of Workday products to provide seamless user experiences. As a Software Development Engineer on the team, you will work on the structure, and delivery of data between Workday services to ensure fast, efficient processing of data changes across our products.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, test and debug features and APIs in various backend technologies including Java, Kotlin and Workday’s own XpressO language
Collaborate with multiple development teams to define requirements and implement new features
Work with PM, senior management, and the UX teams to break down high-level product vision into manageable pieces for development execution
Resolve complex technical issues to help build and optimize secure, stable and scalable web applications
Must have a disciplined, minimalist approach to designing and constructing layered software components that can be embedded within larger platforms or applications
Support/mentor other developers on the team through brainstorming, design review, and code reviews
Create and maintain technical documentation for developed solutions
About You
Basic Qualifications
5+ years backend development experience with Web applications
Experience with Object Oriented design and programming in Java, Kotlin, or XpressO
Other Qualifications
Working knowledge of streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka
Experience with REST API design and security
You love learning new technologies, languages, tools, and you have a passion for building frameworks.
Proven ability to work in a fast paced, highly adaptable agile team with evolving requirements and architectures
Strong individual contributor that can address hard technical problems with optimism and positivity
Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to collaborate in a cross functional, geographically dispersed team
Comfortable with source control systems like Git

Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $112,500 USD - $204,000 USD
