Electrical Engineer - Pennsylvania
CSG Talent are recruiting for the Senior Electrical Engineer to join global mining and construction aggregates producer and contribute to their large plant operations in Pennsylvania and Indiana.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Oversee the creation and validation of intricate electrical designs and documentation.
- Assist in the preparation and review of technical design criteria and specification reports for electrical and control systems used in capital projects.
- Provide feedback on project criteria, guidelines, standards, and practices, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest codes, technologies, and methodologies.
- Lead design efforts in collaboration with project personnel, external consultants, and technical agencies.
- Coordinate with heads of other departments (mechanical, software, production) to ensure a unified project development approach.
- Perform evaluations of equipment and construction proposals, offering recommendations for contract awards.
- Create project documentation, including technical recommendations, work packages, and commissioning documents.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including presenting to clients, management, and during team meetings.
- Conduct quality audits on engineering work to ensure compliance with project procedures and the quality assurance plan.
- Lead the electrical commissioning team (both internal and external resources) to ensure a safe and successful plant startup, requiring complex communication with other discipline leads and operations personnel.
- Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting for the Plant and related facilities.
- Work collaboratively in a diverse, multi-disciplinary, fast-paced, and challenging environment.
- Provide leadership and guidance for the growth and development of junior engineering staff.
- Work primarily in an office environment with regular visits to production sites, client facilities, and other locations as needed for project requirements.
- Travel as needed to support project implementation and attend professional conferences.
Who We Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
- At least 10 years of experience in heavy industrial environments, with a minimum of 5 years as a project engineer or group leader, covering tasks such as planning, designing, constructing, operating, and commissioning facilities.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and component design, fabrication processes, and engineering materials.
- Knowledge in designing low, medium, and high voltage power distribution, including load flow, short circuit, and grounding studies, transformer sizing, and cable sizing.
- Working knowledge of industry and regulatory codes and standards (CSA, NEC, NFPA, and IEEE standards); familiarity with international standards (such as IEC) is a plus.
- Experience with electrical testing procedures and national testing standards such as NETA.
- Hands-on experience with electrical system upgrades, installation, and commissioning is beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire.
